in Cardston - Taber:
PC 4367
WA 4328
There will be a recount, I expect, but 39 votes is very likely to be too much to make up.
I wish I could send you my 289 votes, boss!
Looks like I should have never campaigned here at all, and instead driven down to Cardston to campaign for Hinman for a couple weeks.

Well, it's not all bad news, Brian. For what its worth, I would have voted for you if I was in your riding. In fact, I would have voted for WAP if there was a candidate in my riding, but there wasn't. At first I was somewhat opposed to some of the WAP's policies, and to some extent they were a little less than clearly defined in the earlier stages, but at the end, I felt they were the best of the available options.
For a first run at it in a traditionally left-leaning riding, I think you did OK - you beat out the Green and the independant. How the PC's pulled off the steamroller victory they did in Edmonton is a bit of a mystery to me.
I think WAP will fair better in the next round, if they can put forth a clear message and policies that are both wise and appealing to the broad electorate.
